Credit Controller

We’re working with a well-established Coventry business looking to add a Credit Controller to their finance team on a long term temporary basis.\n\nThis is a solid, hands-on role for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of a ledger and support the finance team with cash collection, sales ledger maintenance and query resolution.\n\nThe business is looking for someone available at short notice who is confident picking things up quickly and building relationships with customers and internal teams.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nManaging and maintaining the sales ledger, ensuring records are accurate and up to date\nOpening new customer accounts in line with internal processes\nSetting, reviewing and maintaining customer credit limits\nPosting customer receipts, recharge invoices and rebate credit notes\nCalculating customer prompt payment rebates\nSending monthly statements and chasing overdue balances by phone, email and letter\nSupporting with customer invoice queries and helping resolve issues quickly\nMaintaining the stop list and escalating unpaid debts where required\nAssisting the Financial Controller and Finance Director with ad hoc finance tasks\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nPrevious experience in credit control, sales ledger or a similar finance role\nThe ability to start quickly or at short notice\nA good understanding of basic financial accounting\nStrong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems\nGood attention to detail and the ability to work accurately\nA confident, personable approach when dealing with customers and internal teams\nThe ability to take responsibility for your work and manage your own ledger\nVAT knowledge would be beneficial\n\nWhat You’ll Get in Return\n\nA long-term temporary opportunity with potential to develop further\nA stable, established business with a supportive finance team\nExposure across both credit control and wider sales ledger duties\nThe chance to work closely with senior finance stakeholders\nA varied role where you can take genuine ownership of the ledger\nA quick-moving process for someone available immediately or at short notice\n\nThis would suit someone who enjoys a traditional credit control role, likes taking ownership of their ledger and is ready to step into a busy finance team quickly
