About the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a high-impact role where you will lead the finance function and play a critical part in driving financial performance, strategic decision-making, and operational excellence.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver meaningful business outcomes. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAs Senior Financial Controller, you will:\n\nLead the site finance function and provide clear, insightful financial reporting to senior leadership\nPartner with operational and leadership teams to drive business performance and deliver accurate KPIs\nOwn budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and cost accounting activities\nManage and analyse manufacturing costs, inventory, variances, and material pricing metrics\nPrepare monthly management accounts and support month-end and year-end close processes\nDeliver cash flow forecasting and financial analysis\nLead internal controls and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and regulatory requirements\nAct as the main contact for external auditors and statutory reporting\nDrive process improvement initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities\nDevelop and lead a high-performing finance team, supporting growth and capability development\nManage banking, insurance, and tax compliance, including VAT returns\n\nAbout You\n\nTo succeed in this role, you will bring:\n\nA recognised financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)\nExtensive experience (15+ years) in finance, ideally within a manufacturing environment\nStrong leadership experience managing and developing teams\nDeep expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis\nProven experience working with inventory management and manufacturing KPI reporting\nStrong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders\nHigh proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and reporting tools\nKnowledge of UK GAAP, audit processes, and HMRC compliance\nA proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines\nExperience with ERP systems and international reporting (desirable)Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
